Škodák, Josef ; Jelen, Libor (advisor) ; Miškovský, Josef (referee)
5 Abstract This paper examines the electoral performance of pro-Russian political parties in two former USSR countries - Estonia and Latvia. Tensions between the large Russian- speaking minority and the majority population create a strong ethnic cleavage. This has given rise to the pro-Russian political parties that will be the focus of this paper. Its aim is to evaluate the electoral results and to find the geographical conditionality of electoral support for these parties in the last two parliamentary elections. The thesis also introduces the different pro-Russian parties and presents the concept of the identity of the Russian- speaking minority. In the analytical part, maps of electoral support are created from the election results and cores of electoral support are found. The thesis also describes the development of electoral support and examines the dependence between the results of pro-Russian parties and the national composition. Milev, Matěj ; Ondruška, Michal (advisor) ; Stauber, Jakub (referee)
This thesis deals with the characteristic of electoral geography of the political movement Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in the years 2017 and 2021, as well as its putting to the context with spatial distribution patterns of electoral results of ideologically closest political parties, which are the Dawn of Direct Democracy (Úsvit) in 2013 and Tricolour Freedomites Freeholders (TSS) in 2021. The analysis of these patterns is examined at the level of administrative divisions of municipalities, using the method of P. Jehlička and L. Sýkora. Then is used the analysis of determination of these electoral results with the social-economic character of the Czech electorate. Among the most important findings belongs the identification of high electoral support of SPD in the frontier areas, confirmation of common patterns of the 2017 results with the character of the Úsvit support and conversely its non-finding in the 2021 election with the TSS. There was also confirmed positive correlation of electoral support with the rate of unemployment, as well as with the rate of persons without secondary graduation.

Univerzita Karlova, Fakulta sociálních věd, Institut sociologických studií, Katedra sociologie. Vedoucí bakalářské práce Mgr. Tomáš Dvořák, Ph.D. Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with the change of socio-demographic, life-value variables and territorial aspects of electoral support for the ANO movement between 2013 and 2017. It is divided into three parts - theoretical, methodological and analytical. The theoretical part presents the most important features of populism, which are subsequently identified in the electoral strategy of the ANO movement. The movement's strategy is further discussed in detail; attention is also paid to past research on the characteristics of ANO voters. The methodological and analytical part focuses on the secondary analysis of data from the ESS international research project (specifically from 2014 and 2018). To determine changes in the characteristics of ANO voters between these two years, a series of analyses (chi-square tests, t-tests, binary logistic regression) were conducted using SPSS software to reveal the answers to the research questions - namely, in what ways do voters differ most, in what ways are...
Electoral support development for extreme right-wing parties in the Slovak Republic during the period 2010-2014 and the factors influencing the electoral support
Koreň, Marián ; Charvát, Jan (advisor) ; Kubátová, Hana (referee)
Senior thesis "The development of electoral support of far-right parties in Slovakia during 2010-2016 and factors influencing this support" examines the development of electoral support of Slovak National Party and People's Party Our Slovakia using some of the tools of electoral support geography. The theoretical part is dedicated to existing definitions of extreme right-wing parties through which the choice of parties for further examination is made. The analytical part is split into two parts: the first classifies electoral support through the method of region and core of electoral support. At the same time, the first part defines regions which have had a stable electoral support throughout the entire observed period. All findings are presented in a cartographic form. Using an array of statistical tools, the latter part takes on the task of correlating the results of elections, in regards to far-right parties, with selected demographic characteristics of municiplaties, which are assumed to have positive impact upon the income of far-right parties.

Fráně, Luděk ; Kostelecký, Tomáš (advisor) ; Madleňák, Tibor (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the political-geographical analysis of the Czech extreme rights, its voters and electoral support in the period after 1990. The paper aims to evaluate the development of the Czech extreme rights in the period 1990-2010 in terms of its importance in the Czech political system, and especially from the perspective of regional differentiation of its electoral support, and to identify possible influencing factors that conduce the voters to support this political stream. The objective is to answer the question whether there are significant regional differences in the support of right-wing extremist parties and, if so, whether these differences are stable over time. Just monitoring of a longer period (1990-2010) will specify whether the regions with above-average support of far-right parties are stable, or whether the extraordinary support of these parties during the reported period varies regionally and some shifts occur for example, due to the social-economic changes in the transformation period. The thesis also examines the factors that could explain the regional differences in electoral support of the far rights. The aim here is to use the social- demographic and economic characteristics expressing the structure of the population as well as the influence of the local...
